Funk is a kind of afro-american music born in the late 60's, and that has been growing through the 70's and 80's. maninly springing from Soul and Jazz musics, Funk's characteristics are the rhythm section predominance (guitar, bass ,drums), the typical presence of brass wind on the rythm (riffs) or solos, and in general, the major role granted to instruments.
