New Age

New Age music genre was born in the 70's with mind-blowing music derivated from Brian Eno's ambient music and influienced at the beginning by groups like the Pink Floyds, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis. Often mystic, it exalts the voice power: the canadian Patrick Bernard (ex Bernhardt), Deva Premal, Robert Gass. A number of composers devote themselves to merely instrumental music used for relaxation, for instance the French Michel Pépé, Thierry Morati, Logos or Music-Synthese, using mainly synthesizer and traditional instruments often embellished by nature sounds (waves, birds song) and possibly by voice samples (Grégorian chants, oriental mantras, American Indian chants, etc). Some record labels such as "Imagine records", "Oréade music", Narada or "Le Souffle d'Or", deal exclusively with New Age and spiritual World music.
