Pop/Rock

Pop-Rock refers to the Pop branch that remained close to its Rock roots. The words "Pop Rock" can also be used to gather both genres, Pop and Rock, as a jointure, not an intersection. In the late 60's, Rock music was split into two main branches: one closer to the Blues from which it sprang, and Pop music, that emphasizes melodies and vocal harmony. Rock is more musically radical and often less politically correct in the lyrics (even raging) then Pop music, more consensual. Pop artists are generally less provocative (although some use provocation as their hallmark).
